The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives to maximize revenue, market share, and profitability for the resort. This role leads the sales team in identifying new business opportunities, maintaining key client relationships, and driving group, corporate, leisure, and MICE business segments. The Director of Sales works closely with the Revenue, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure the achievement of overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across key market segments.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to develop effective sales plans.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with travel partners, wholesalers, corporate accounts, meeting planners, and other key stakeholders.
Revenue Generation
- Drive room, banquet, and ancillary revenue through proactive sales efforts.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize pricing and inventory strategies.
- Monitor sales performance, forecasting, and production reports.
- Ensure sales goals and budget targets are consistently met or exceeded.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team to achieve individual and departmental objectives.
- Establish performance standards and conduct regular evaluations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support training and professional development initiatives.
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and key accounts.
- Conduct sales calls, presentations, site inspections, and client entertainment activities.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Represent the resort at trade shows, industry events, and networking functions.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly sales reports, forecasts, and business reviews.
- Track key performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Utilize CRM and sales management systems to maintain accurate records and pipeline management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive sales leadership experience within luxury hospitality.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and driving business growth.
- Strong understanding of hotel sales, revenue management, and market segmentation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel as required.
